Tell Them About The Roads - Road Safety
On 6 December 2023, our community lost a bright and curious seven‑year‑old, William “Will” Brown Jr, who was tragically struck by a van while retrieving his beloved football from the road near his home on Sandgate Esplanade.
Will Brown Jr's are on a mission to raise awareness of road safety in our community.
Road Safety Events for Schools
From the parlour, Will’s father and local partners host road‑safety seminars designed for early‑years pupils. Complete with sweet treats, presentations, and interactive sessions, these events teach children about traffic awareness and safe crossing – a vital message, especially at an age when they often feel invincible .
Indoor Football Pitch and Safety Workshops
Reflecting Will’s love of football, an indoor pitch adjacent to the café hosts “crossbar challenges” and road‑safety workshops. Local schools are invited to participate in sessions combining physical play and critical safety messaging to reinforce the dangers of roads.
